Sepultura – The Groove Metal Band

The band originally consisted of Max Cavalera (guitar), Igor Cavalera (drums), Paolo Jr. (Bassist), and Wagner Lamounier (vocalist). But not last long, Wagener out of this band, its position was replaced by Max who doubles as guitarist. Due to limited personnel, Jairo Guedes was invited to be a guitarist in the band, but its position in the band also did not last long.


At first the band was using the genre of Heavy Metal. Then the emergence of bands venom and some metal bands in the 80 other hard to change the musical direction the band that became more severe again. Some of the genres that have been tested by the band including Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Industrial, Hardcore Punk, and even Extreme Metal is not separated from the experimental genre of this band called Sepultura.


The emergence of their first album filled with the strains of heavy metal through Cogumelo Records released titled Bestial DEVASTATION in 1995. Their second album was also released in the same place (Morbid Visions), the album is loaded with the strains of death metal is pretty much contributed to the genre that was recently formed in the mid 80s. Morbid Visions itself which was released in 1986 became part of pure death metal album.


A year after the release of their first album, the band guitarist Jairo Guedes out and replaced by Andreas kisser whose position in the band Sepultura survive to this day. In the same year, released their third album titled sepultura Schizophrenia (1987). The album was so successful that they managed to get a contract with Roadrunner Records.


Their fourth album was released in 1989 titled Beneath the Remains. The release of this album followed the band Sepultura long tour in Europe and America. This album itself occupies as a death metal record 40 records and one of the all-time top 20 thrash metal.


In 1990, Sepultura moved to Phoenix, Arizona, mobility is not wasted by the band that with immediate start cultivation of their new album. The new album (Arise) and then released at Morrisound Studios in Tampa, Florida in 1991, and ranked 119 in the Billboard 200.


The sixth album was released in 1993 titled Chaos AD. This album is an album which can be considered as the best, and became one of the greatest heavy metal album of all time. In the album, in addition to the major genres that are used band music combined with Industrial, Hardcore and Extreme Metal.


The sixth album titled Root (released 1996) is different again, the genre that used to use a mixture of the strains of heavy metal. Unfortunately, after this album was released, Sepultura band members sacked their manager, Gloria - who was none other than Max Cavalera's wife.


The dismissal has caused tension within the band, which eventually in 1996, Max Cavalera left the band kearena his wife could no longer get updates contract. Max then formed a new band called Soulfly. Meanwhile, Max's position was replaced by Derrick Green on vocals. With the new lineup, the band began working on a new album which was released in 1998 titled Against. However, the album was not as successful as previous albums.


Their eighth album titled Nation (very bad in the market). As a result the band was required to pull out of Roadrunner Records. Roorback paa released in 2003 via SPV Records. And even this album is not far different from the previous album - selling pretty ugly.


In 2006, rumors that Max will be back in the band emerged, but directly refuted by the kisser. End, the whole family Igor Cavalera leave the band.


Their ninth album titled A-Lex released without first forming the band, namely Max and Igor. The album was released in 2009.


In this year, Sepultura become part of the Summer Breeze Open Air heavy metal festival in Germany. The festival will be held on December 19 to August 21 was held in Dinkelsbühl, Bavaria.
