MIKE PORTNOY WILL BE DRUMMING WITH A7X

After having had such an amazing experience recording my drum tracks for the new Avenged Sevenfold album, we all knew it would be awesome if I'd be able to do some touring with the band after its release...
I am happy to say that the timing worked out perfectly that my touring cycle with Dream Theater (and Transatlantic) was coming to an end just as A7X's was scheduled begin!
(well, perfect for everyone except my poor family!) : )
Although I wish I could stay on board with A7X in a more permanent capacity, the reality is that I am committed to Dream Theater as my main priority (that is my baby after all!), and I will need to resume work with DT to start a new album at some point in 2011....
However, I will be able to join my brothers in Avenged Sevenfold for at least the duration of their touring throughout 2010...and hopefully this will give them the time to continue to heal and get comfortable back on the road....
You can look at me like the band's "rebound drummer" to buy them some time until they are comfortable and ready to make a commitment to somebody new for full-time relationship in their future!
In the meantime, I am real excited to hit the road with the boys...to bring my drumming from their new album to life on stage and to honor The Rev with all of their older material....

Mike Portnoy Out Of DREAM THEATER

Perhaps this is the most shocking news before the end of the year. Among lovers of prog very dihebohkan with Mike Portnoy's unilateral decision that choose retreat as DREAM THEATER drummer. Bands that have been built and raised his name in the last 25 years.

"But please do not misunderstand I hate judging DREAM THEATER. I have a long story with a band and I love DREAM THEATER shot that name also comes from my father's gift. But I think I need a new atmosphere at least for a while now.

"There are also other feelings that DREAM THEATER I feel like I want to make the scheme out of the band and the decision I did to save personal relationships with other personnel to make DREAM THEATER remain full of inspiration.

"I'm sorry for all of fan of DREAM THEATER but please understand the situation now. Right now I just want a break from the band and it does not mean out completely, "said Mike Portnoy as quoted from the official records of temuat on facebook.

DREAM THEATER are major role models in the world of progressive metal scene. Formed in 1986 the band has rarely changed personnel and the release of Mike Portnoy became the third man who fled the original personnel where previously there vocalist and keyboardist Charles Dominici Kevin Moore. Practical living John Myung and John Petrucci who became the original members of this band.

Since forming in 1986, along with DREAM THEATER Mike Portnoy has released at least ten full albums including their debut "When Dream and Day Unite" in 1989 and "Black Cloud and Silver Linnings" in 2009.

Mike Portnoy, or whose real name is Michael Stephen Portnoy has won several major awards as the best drummer in several versions including 23-time winner of Modern Drummer Magazine. And men who have a blood descendant of these Jew born 20 April 1967.

Bontang Rock City

Probably not many realize that the city is located in Bontang in East Kalimantan has the seeds of Rock-generation quality. My own first time teaching music in the city of Bontang little surprised, because young people here is my enthusiasm in music. and that makes me proud is the young people in the town of Bontang average very fond of music that was .....!!!!!!. Rock Genres Whether it's Classic Rock, Progressive Rock, Funk Rock, etc. .....

Bontang parents strongly supported their children to play music. with evidence that the parents put their children to music classes in the city of Bontang. even in school they get a subject that has not music we get more if we are in Java. Bontang also junior high school students have been given the task of rearranging, although the arrangements they make it very simple but very useful for brain development of children and their musical development. the parents are also not half-hearted son to buy musical instruments for children quickly developed into playing music. This makes me not too difficult to teach the techniques of guitar playing that is difficult to the students despite their age are still very young.

Many are also young people who, after graduating high school Bontang continued to study music in Java and they also still exists in music.
